Terms of use

Last updated:

These terms apply to SousChef for the home: the app at sous-chef.eu/app, the Android app and this website. By using the service you accept them.

1. Provider

The service is provided by Nikolaos Portokallidis, Al. Panagouli 10, 17885 Zografou, Athens, Greece, email info@sous-chef.eu.

2. Free beta

The service is free, in beta. There are no payments. Free keeps your recipes on your device and includes one use a week of each AI feature (smart import, AI variation, AI week plan). Plus adds sync and more smart imports and is granted on request at info@sous-chef.eu. If it ends, your recipes stay on your device and keep working; the copy that was already synced stays with us, and sync resumes if Plus returns.

Features and limits may change during the beta. If payments are introduced, you will be told in advance and nothing will be charged without your explicit choice.

3. Account

The app works without an account too. An account requires an age of at least 18. Access to the email or Google account you sign in with is your responsibility. Each person may have one account: addresses with + are not accepted and dots in a Gmail address count as the same address.

4. Your recipes

Your recipes, photos and notes belong to you. You give us only the permission to store, process and display them in order to provide the service to you.

Recipes you import from links, videos or works of third parties are for personal use and cannot be published.

5. Publishing

You may publish only original recipes that you wrote yourself and have the rights to. By publishing, you give us a free, non-exclusive licence to display them on this website and in share previews until you withdraw them.

Publishing is part of Plus. When your plan ends, published recipes stay on the website; you can withdraw any of them at any time from the app, or write to info@sous-chef.eu.

We may remove published content that infringes third-party rights or these terms. To report content, write to info@sous-chef.eu.

6. AI and informational content

Smart import and AI suggestions write drafts that may contain mistakes. Check every result before you rely on it.

Diet, fasting and allergen tags and nutrition values are informational, not a guarantee. They do not replace checking the ingredients and packaging, or the advice of a doctor or dietitian.

7. Acceptable use

Do not use the service for unlawful content, to infringe the rights of third parties, for automated mass collection of data or to get around the usage limits.

8. Availability and termination

As a beta, the service comes with no commitment to availability or support. We keep daily backups.

You can delete your account at any time, in the app’s Settings or as the “Delete your account” page explains; deletion cannot be undone. If we shut the service down, we will notify you at least 60 days ahead so that you can ask for a copy of your data.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages or for loss of data from causes beyond our control. Liability for intent or gross negligence and the mandatory rights that consumer protection law gives you are not limited.

10. Changes and governing law

If the terms change materially, we will tell you before they take effect.

Greek law applies. As a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of your country of residence and may also go to its courts.
